RHCML About the Library

The Royal Hospital Central Medical Library is the central store-house on which Hospitals and Health centers can depend for library facilities. It is jointly funded by the MOH and the Royal Hospital Health Services. Established in 1970, it is the oldest medical library in Oman. It provides resources and services to support the clinical, research, teaching and learning needs of staff and students in the Faculty of Health Sciences and MOH staff. It plays a very important role in the dissemination of scientific information and in the furtherance of research for more than quarter of a century. This library was housed on the ground floor of the Ministry of Health Headquarters, and was shifted in 1987 to its current location when the Royal Hospital was commissioned. In April 2009 the Royal Hospital launched the e-medical library under H.E Honorable Minister of Health. Thus, the medical library had moved to a new phase of providing medical information services to enrich the evidence-based medicine and continuing medical education.
